1. Screening and disclosure
Clients must complete requested screening honestly and disclose relevant injuries, pain, symptoms, medical conditions, pregnancy, medication considerations and professional restrictions. Screening helps guide coaching decisions but cannot identify every risk or replace a medical assessment.
2. Medical clearance
A client should obtain medical clearance before starting or continuing exercise when advised by a healthcare professional, requested by MyFitHaus, or where the client has concerning symptoms, significant health conditions, recent surgery, pregnancy-related concerns or uncertainty about exercise safety. MyFitHaus may pause or decline high-intensity training pending appropriate clearance.
3. Inherent risks
Training may involve running, resistance exercise, lifting, jumping, conditioning work, loaded carries, sled work and other physically demanding activity. Foreseeable risks can include fatigue, dizziness, falls, strains, sprains, aggravation of an existing condition, cardiovascular events and other injury. Risk cannot be completely eliminated even with appropriate coaching.
4. Stop criteria
Stop exercising and seek appropriate assistance if you experience chest pain or pressure, fainting, severe or unusual shortness of breath, sudden weakness, confusion, loss of coordination, severe pain, a suspected serious injury or any symptom that feels unsafe. In an emergency, contact South African emergency services or obtain immediate medical assistance.
5. Remote coaching
During online or self-directed training, a coach may not be able to observe the client, equipment or environment continuously. The client is responsible for selecting a safe space, using suitable equipment, following instructions, working within their ability and obtaining in-person assistance when required.
6. Individual results
Performance, strength, fitness and body-composition responses vary. Examples, targets and client outcomes are not guarantees. Race participation and competition readiness remain subject to the client’s condition, event rules and any professional medical advice.
7. Nutrition and lifestyle information
General guidance about protein, hydration, recovery, sleep and eating habits is educational and not personalised medical nutrition therapy. Clients with medical, metabolic, gastrointestinal or eating-related concerns should consult an appropriately qualified healthcare professional.
